Install initial Lucent CM node

Purpose

This topic describes the steps to install the initial Lucent CM node only.

Important!  All other nodes are added through the Lucent CM Explorer.

Install initial Lucent CM node

Task StepsPerform the following steps to install the initial Lucent CM node:

Insert CD1 of the Linux Operating System CD-ROMs in the CD-ROM drive.

Mount the CD-ROM. Enter:

# mount /mnt/cdrom

Import the RPM key. Enter:

# rpm --import /mnt/cdrom/RPM-GPG-KEY

Exit the directory. Enter:

cd /

Eject the Linux Operating System CD1. Enter:

# eject

Insert the installation CD labeled Lucent CM Application in the CD-ROM drive.

Mount the CD-ROM. Enter:

# mount /mnt/cdrom

Change directory to the directory where the installation script is located. Enter:

# cd /mnt/cdrom/scripts

Execute the Lucent CM install script as “root”. Enter:

# ./install_initial_node.sh

Result:  A long list of status messages displays. The messages provide information about the installation steps that are performing.

Enter the following:

Lucent CM system name

Virtual host name

 

<VIP_hostname>

 

Descriptive name of the initial node

 

<nodename>

 

Internal Host Name of the initial node

 

<InternalHostName>

 

External Host Name of the initial node

 

<ExternalHostName>

 

DB tie-breaker hostname.

 

<HostName> or <IP address>

This must be an external entity that is associated with the internal interfaces network. For example, the default gateway of the internal interface.

 

Result:  A numbered list displays with the values you entered.

Verify the correctness.

Enter a number to change an entry.

Enter y to accept the entered values.

Result:  Status messages displays to provide information about the installation steps that are performing.
