The Lucent CM is designed to provide users of different call servers a unified experience. It provides users with a powerful, easy to use interface to access and manage services.
Lucent CM supports the Lucent FS 3000 call server. The Lucent CM when integrated with FS 3000 should be considered an extra but integral layer to the overall solution.
Lucent CM communicates to the Lucent FS 3000 call server over TCP/IP through the following interfaces:
Call control interface (OCI-C) or Client Access Protocol (CAP)
Provisioning interface (OCI-P) or Operation Support System (OSS))
The call control interface is used for performing call control actions on behalf of an Lucent CM user such as click-to-dial, and for receiving call events such as caller id. The provisioning interface is used for provisioning tasks done on behalf of the administrator (user addition, service manipulation), or the user (find me/follow me provisioning).
Provisioning is done in layers, from items that are done once, occasionally and finally the frequent provisioning changes.
