This topic describes the steps to stop all Lucent CM nodes and change the Lucent CM system IP address.
CAUTION
Service-disruption hazard
Unrecoverable Lucent CM outages may occur when changing host names and IP addresses at the same time.
All service is lost, while the IP address changes are processed
Do not change host names at the same time as making changes to IP addresses.

Login to any local CM node as “root” user. |
2 |
Enter: su - lps |

5 |
Perform the actual IP address changes to the network. This includes physical changes, configuration files and DNS updates. |
6 |
Start the update configuration script. Enter: ./modLpsIpAddr.sh Result: A warning displays stating root passwords for all Lucent CM nodes are needed to perform this procedure. |
7 |
Confirm, to continue the procedure. Result: The script starts a reconfiguration session to limit access to the databases and requests root passwords. |
