Mixed release rings

Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX supports the following mixed releases in the same ring:

• R5.1.3/R5.1.6/R6.0.3 and R7.0.3

• R5.1.3/R5.1.4/R5.1.6/R6.0.1/R6.0.4 and R7.1.2

• R7.0.2/R7.0.3 and R7.1.2

• R7.1.2 and R8.0

Considerations for mixed release rings

In a mixed network, features are limited to the content of the lowest release for a given node pair.

All nodes should be upgraded to the same release prior to adding or deleting a node in a ring.

All nodes should be upgraded to the same release prior to upgrading the ring to a higher rate (OC-3/STM-1 to OC-12/STM-4) .

A Gateway Network Element (GNE) should be upgraded to the latest release.
