Procedure 7-9.2: Enable/disable FTP and/or FTAM-FTP (FTTD) gateway functions
Overview
Important!
This is not a stand-alone procedure. Perform this procedure only as directed by Procedure 7-9: Set NE defaults — alarm gateway, alarm group, remote NE status, FTP/FTTD, security and history log thresholds.
This procedure allows you to:

Enable/Disable the NE for FTP file transfers to and from the NE. File transfers may be directly to and from an FTP-GNE, or through an FTP-GNE to/from an FTP enabled remote NE using IP Routing. Software downloads and provisionable database backup and restore are supported using FTP file transfers.

Enable/Disable the NE as an FTAM-FTP Gateway (GNE). Enabling the NE as an FTAM-FTP Gateway allows the NE to act as a File Transfer Translation Device (FTTD) to perform file transfer translation between an FTP server and a remote NE using the FTAM protocol for file transfers.
Important!
Other provisioning may be necessary to use this function. Depending on your requirements, provisioning may include TCP/IP addressing and gateways, IP Routing, NSAP addresses, LAN port provision, and area routing.
Steps
Perform the following steps to Enable/Disable FTP and/or FTAM-FTP Gateway functions.

If FTP will be used on this NE, under File Transfer Protocol, select Enabled to enable FTP on this NE. Otherwise, select Disabled to disable FTP. Important! If this NE is also being provisioned as an FTAM-FTP Gateway, then File Transfer Protocol must also be Enabled. |

If this NE will be used as an FTAM-FTP Gateway, under FTAM-FTP (FTTD) Gateway Control, select Enabled to enable this NE as an FTAM-FTP Gateway. Otherwise, select Disabled. |
