Procedure 6-2: Provision shelf/system parameters

- Overview

Use this procedure to provision the following types of parameters that apply to the entire shelf/system.

  • General system-level parameters

  • Signal threshold levels for all system signal rates

  • Node-level control plane parameters

- Privilege level

You must login as a Privileged user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.

  2. Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

Steps

Perform the following steps to provision shelf/system parameters.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Equipment.

Result:

The Configure Equipment window opens.

Select (highlight) DMX or enter system in the Enter AID box, then click Select at the bottom of the window.

Result:

The provisionable system parameters appear.

If required, select the System Data tab and provision the general system parameters according to the work instructions.

Refer to the WaveStar® CIT on-line help for a description of the general system parameters and the provisionable values.

If required, select the Signal Threshold tab and provision the Signal Degrade and Signal Failure thresholds according to the work instructions.

Refer to the WaveStar® CIT on-line help for a description of the Signal Threshold parameters and the provisionable values.

If required, select the ENNI tab and provision the node-level control plane parameters according to the work instructions.

Refer to the WaveStar® CIT on-line help for a description of the node-level control plane parameters and the provisionable values.

Click Apply to make the changes. If no changes were made, go to the next step.

Result:

A dialog box appears asking you to confirm executing this command. Click Yes to apply the changes.

Click Close at the bottom of window to exit.
