Likely Cause

A slot was occupied and provisioned for a supported circuit pack type. The supported circuit pack was removed, and an unsupported circuit pack type was inserted into that slot: SA.

An illegal or unknown circuit pack type has been inserted into the shelf: NSA.

Visible Indication

Lighted CR, MJ, or MN LED on the SYSCTL faceplate (when the severity level is provisioned to Critical, Major, or Minor, respectively) and a continuously lighted Fault LED on the alarmed circuit pack.

Action

Proceed to Procedure 5-46: Clear "illegal CP type" alarm.
