Procedure 11-39: Enable/Disable transmission audit

- Overview

Use this procedure to enable or disable transmission audit on the LNW70/LNW170 circuit packs.

The transmission audit is a consistency check between counters on various devices on the LNW70/LNW170 circuit pack. The transmission audit feature provides error detection capabilities that might not otherwise be detected.

When enabled, a transmission audit failure will result in a LAN or VCG segment audit failed alarm (SEGAUDTIN or SEGAUDTOUT) or equipment NP audit failed alarm (NPAUDT). When transmission audit is disabled, any outstanding NPAUDT and SEGAUDTIN/SEGAUDTOUT alarms clear.

When transmission audit is enabled for a circuit pack that is part of a pair of protected circuit packs (LNW170 only), transmission audit is enabled for both circuit packs of the pair.
