Procedure 8-5: Provision performance monitoring (PM) settings

- Overview

Use this procedure to perform the following:

  • Enable/disable performance monitoring on a port, tributary, or VCG

  • Enable/disable threshold crossing alert (TCA) reporting on a port, tributary, or VCG.

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged, General, or Maintenance user to provision performance monitoring and TCA reporting parameters.

Steps

Perform the following steps to provision performance monitoring and TCA reporting.

1

From the System View menu, select Performance → Prov PM Settings.

Result:

The Provision PM window opens.

2

Important!

During initial ring turn up, the default value for the port PJC Monitoring Point parameter may produce constant PM counts. To prevent constant PM counts, provision the port PJC Monitoring Point parameter to an unused tributary.

Expand the details for the required Function group or circuit pack with the ports, tributaries, or VCGs being provisioned. Click on the required port, tributary, or VCG you want to provision, then click Select.

3

Provision parameters as required and click Apply.

Result:

A dialog box appears asking you to confirm executing this command.

4

Read the warning message and click Yes to execute the command. Click Close to exit.
