Login to one of the nodes in the ERP.

Make sure that the ring is in the idle state.
From the Navigation menu, select View → Data → ERP. Select the circuit pack associated with the ERP.
TL1 command: rtrv-erp.
In the ERP display, verify that the ERP Instance State is ENRB (No Request (RPL blocked).
Note the VLAN ID and Maintenance Level.

Login to the node with the link that will be the new RPL.
Shut down the ERP link that will be the new RPL. From the System View, select Configuration → Equipment. Expand the circuit pack details.

For an Ethernet (LAN) port, highlight and Select the port.
From the Port Data tab, set Port Administration Control to DISABLE, then click Apply. Click Close.

For a VCG port, expand the VCG details.
Set VCG Membership to Disabled for both Input and Output Direction.
In the Apply To: drop-down box, select All Tributaries, This VCG.
Click Apply, then click Close.
Result:
The node signals SF and unblocks the ring protection link (RPL).

Login to the existing RPL Owner node.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete ERP. Select the LNW70/170 with the ports associated with the ERP.
Result:
The ERP configuration screen displays.

Make the existing RPL port not be the RPL.
In the RPL ID drop-down box, remove the port AID. Click Apply, then click Close.

Login to the node that is the new RPL Owner.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete ERP. Select the LNW70/170 with the ports associated with the ERP.
Result:
The ERP configuration screen displays.

Designate the port for the new Ring Protection Link (RPL) for the ring. This command also makes this node the RPL Owner.
In the RPL ID drop-down box, enter the port AID for the new RPL.
As required, configure the Wait-to-Restore (WTR) time for the ERP.
The WTR time is the length of time after a failure recovers before the ERP reverts to the default configuration (with the RPL blocked). WTR may only be provisioned at the RPL Owner node. The ITU-T G.8032 standard requires the WTR time to be from 5 to 12 minutes.
Click Apply, then click Close.

Enable the new RPL link.
From the System View, select Configuration → Equipment. Expand the circuit pack details.

For an Ethernet (LAN) port, highlight and Select the port that was disabled.
From the Port Data tab, set Port Administration Control to ENABLE, then click Apply. Click Close.

For a VCG port, expand the VCG details.
Set VCG Membership to Enabled for both Input and Output Direction.
In the Apply To: drop-down box, select All Tributaries, This VCG.
Click Apply, then click Close.
