Procedure 4-26: Provision optical channel (OCH) port

- Overview

Use this procedure to provision an Optical Channel (OCH) port for service.

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged or General user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Required equipment and Before you begin in this chapter.

  2. Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

  3. Verify the work instruction specify the parameters and values to be provisioned.

Steps

Complete the following steps to provision an Optical Channel (OCH) port for service.

From the System View menu, click the Alarm List button to verify that no alarms are present for the circuit packs to be provisioned.

Result:

The NE Alarm List appears.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Equipment.

Result:

The Configure Equipment window opens.

Find and click (highlight) the OCH port and click Select at the bottom of the window.

Result:

The OCH port parameters appear.

Provision the required OCH parameters according to the work instructions, then click Apply if changes were made. If no changes were made, click Close to exit.
