Provision system parameters

Use this procedure to provision the following types of parameters that apply to the entire shelf/system.

General system-level parameters
- Interface Standard (SONET, SDH)
- RADIUS Authentication (Enabled, Disabled)
- Idle Channel Signal (AIS, Unequipped)
- 1+1 Protection Priority (Forced, Signal Failure)
Signal degrade threshold levels for all system signal rates
Signal failure threshold levels for all system signal rates

You must log in as a Privileged user to complete this procedure.

NOTICE

Service-disruption hazard

Changing the Interface Standard (SONET, SDH) parameter affects system operations.

Do not change the Interface Standard parameter setting on an in-service system unless you are directed to do so from another procedure.

Prior to performing this procedure:

Perform the following steps to provision system parameters.


1	From the System View menu, select Configuration → Equipment. Result: The Configure Equipment window opens.
2	Select (highlight) Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-5 or enter `system` in the Enter AID box. Click Select at the bottom of the window. Result: The provisionable system parameters appear.
3	Provision the general system-level parameters, Signal Degrade Thresholds, and Signal Failure Thresholds according to the work instructions.
4	Click Apply to make the changes. If no changes were made, go to the next step. Result: A dialog box appears asking you to confirm executing this command. Click Yes to apply the changes.
5	Click Close at the bottom of window to exit. End of steps
