Procedure 6-6: Provision system alarm configuration

Overview

Use this procedure to provision the following system alarm configuration parameters:

Alarm-Clear Delay

Sets the time in seconds that the system waits before reporting that an alarm condition is cleared. Alarm-Clear Delay only applies to equipment alarms, not to signal failures. Signal failures have a fixed 10-second delay.
Alarm-Generate Delay

Sets the time in seconds that the system waits before reporting an incoming signal alarm condition.
Power Alarm Level: Provisions the alarm level of a power alarm.

Privilege level

You must log in as either a Privileged or General user to complete this procedure.

Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.
Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

Steps

Perform the following steps to provision system alarm parameters.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Alarms → Alarm Configuration.

Result:

The Configure Alarms window opens.

Provision the Alarm-Clear Delay, Alarm-Generate Delay, and/or Power Alarm Level parameters according to the work instructions and Click OK.
