Procedure 4-7: Provision SONET/SDH tributary

- Overview

Use this procedure to provision the following:

  • SONET STS-n/VT1.5 tributary

  • SDH VC-n tributary

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged or General user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.

  2. Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

  3. Verify the work instruction specify the parameters/values to be provisioned.

Steps

Complete the following steps to provision a SONET/SDH tributary.

From the System View window, select Configuration → Equipment.

Result:

The Configure Equipment window opens.

Find the circuit pack with the tributary being provisioned, then expand the equipment list by clicking on the plus (+) sign next to the required circuit pack and port. Select the required tributary and click Select.

Result:

The tributary parameters appear.

Provision the required tributary parameters according to the work instructions, then click Apply if changes were made. If no changes were made, click Close to exit.

Result:

A dialog box may appear asking you to confirm executing this command. Click Yes to apply the changes. Click Close to exit.

If required, repeat this procedure to provision other tributaries.
