The NE declares a URU-S failure against each associated STM-n line on a failed circuit pack if a circuit pack failure defect persists for the alarm processing delay period ± 0.5 seconds. Refer to SET-ATTR-ALM:almdel in Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) TL1 Command Guide for MSPP. Upon declaring and the failure, the NE sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s). The NE clears a URU-S failure when the CP failed defect clears. After clearing the failure, the NE also sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s).
