Prior to performing this procedure:
Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.
Refer to Laser safety and Electrostatic discharge in Chapter 1, Safety.
Complete the following steps to clear a FE-LAN CP failed alarm.

From the WaveStar® CIT System View, click the Alarm List button and locate the FE-LAN CP failed alarm in the resulting alarm list. | ||||||

Refer to the Probable Cause column in the alarm list, determine the circuit pack affected, and note the corresponding AID. | ||||||

Disconnecting cables and/or replacing circuit packs may disrupt service. Before taking action, determine the extent of service disruption caused by disconnecting cables or replacing a circuit pack. Then, perform the action(s) deemed appropriate in light of the traffic being carried and the nature of the failure. Disengage the affected Ethernet circuit pack completely from the shelf.

From the System View, click the Alarm List button and click Refresh. | ||||||

Is the FE-LAN CP failed alarm still present?

Replace the affected Ethernet circuit pack. Reference: Procedure 6-22: Replace VLNC35 Fast Ethernet circuit pack | ||||||

From the System View, click the Alarm List button and click Refresh. If the FE-LAN CP failed alarm is still present, contact your next level of support. End of steps |
