From the WaveStar^® CIT System View, click the Alarm List button and locate the unrecoverable hardware failure during download, replace CP alarm in the resulting alarm list.

Refer to the Probable Cause column in the alarm list, and note the corresponding AID.

Replace the affected circuit pack.

Result:

The unrecoverable hardware failure during download, replace CP alarm clears when the circuit pack is removed from the slot. Except for the circuit packs in the main slots, the software download begins to the next circuit pack when the alarm clears.

For circuit packs in the main slots, the download stops until there is at least one main circuit pack that is operational with the new software. For example:

• If there are two main circuit packs and the software download to the first main circuit pack results is an unrecoverable hardware failure, the software download to the other main circuit pack does not start until the failed main circuit pack is replaced and the software download to the replacement circuit pack is successful.

• If there is one main circuit pack that fails with an unrecoverable hardware failure, the software download to the other circuit packs does not start until the failed main circuit pack is replaced and the software download to the replacement main circuit pack is successful.

• If there are two main circuit packs and the software download is successful to the first main circuit pack, but an unrecoverable hardware failure occurs when downloading to the second MAIN pack, removing the failed second main circuit pack clears the alarm and the software download to the next circuit pack starts.
