Procedure 6-5: Display Digital Diagnostics Monitoring information for optical PTMs

Use this procedure to display Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) information for optical PTMs.

Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

Log in to the VLNC4x/VLNC6x circuit pack.

From the Navigation menu, select Port → Ethernet Port → Digital Diagnostics Monitoring.

Result:

The Digital Diagnostics Monitoring screen displays.

In the Interface drop-down box, select All or an individual port being monitored.

Result:

The Digital Diagnostics Monitoring screen displays the following information:

Interface

The Slot/Port that supports optical SFPs.

show ddm

Name

Pluggable transmission module name representing the rate(s) supported by the PTM. It is a character string containing one or more rates separated by "//".

Qualifier

Pluggable transmission module qualifier. It is a character string containing one or more qualifiers separated by "//".

See show ddm command in Switching Commands CLI document for details.

Rx Power

PTM optical receive power in dBm. Valid values: -40.0 to +8.2 or "LOS".

Tx Power

PTM optical transmit power in dBM. Valid values: -40.0 to +8.2 or "NA" meaning the laser is turned off.

Laser Bias Current

PTM laser bias current in milliamperes. Valid values: 0.0 to 131.0.

Power Supply Voltage

PTM measured power supply voltage in volts. Valid values: 0 to +6.55.

Temperature

PTM transceiver temperature in degrees Celcius. Valid values: -128.0 to +128.0.

Calibration

Calibration mode Valid values: external or internal
