Procedure 9-4.2: Create OAMPHB profiles

- Overview

Use this procedure to create a OAMPHB profile associated with OAM type packets.

The System supports the capability of configuring an association between a PHB value with a TMPLS OAM packet. The configuration is on a Label Switched Path (LSP) base. A pool of up to 8 OAM PHB profiles are supported per NE. Each LSP, on user configuration base, points to one of these profiles. The chosen PHB is then associated to an EXP bit value, based on the PHB profile pointed to by the monitored LSP. In this release only FDI packets are required to be managed (OAMTYPE1 PHB). The other types of the profiles are for future use. The User, with this command, can establish what PHB value to use for FDI packets and other OAM type packets to be defined in the future. A unique OAM PHB Profile AID will be assigned by the system. The User, when defining terminated TUSegments using ENT-TMPLS-TUSEG, establishes the association between the TUSegment and one of the 8 Profiles using the OAMPHB-AID parameter. Then, all the FDI packets generated in the terminated source TUSegment derives the PHB from the chosen Profile.

OAMPHB profile AIDs are uniquely assigned by the system:

  • The AID for a OAMPHB Profile is OAMPHB-{1-8}.

  • The AID for a User defined OAMPHB Profile is PHBPROF-{2-8}.

  • A proprietary factory OAMPHB profile is identified by OAMPHB-1. It cannot be deleted or modified.

Refer to the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) TL1 Command Guide for T-MPLS, for help on using TLI commands.

Step

1

Login to the VLNC42B.

2

From the Navigation menu, select TMPLS → Quality of Service → OAM PHB Profile Configuration.

Equivalent TL1 command: ent-oamphb-prof.

Result:

The OAM PHB Profile Configuration screen displays.

3

In the OAM PHB Profile drop-down box, select Create to create a new profile or select an existing profile to modify.

4

In the drop-down boxes for each of the OAM Type (1-8), select the parameters as required, then click Submit.

Valid values: {EF, HIGH2, AF1, AF2, AF3, AF4, DE, LOW2}. Default is EF.

Equivalent TLI command: Enter ENT-OAMPHB-PROF:[TID]::[CTAG]::OAMTYPE1,OAMTYPE2,OAMTYPE3,OAMTYPE4,OAMTYPE5,OAMTYPE6,OAMTYPE7,OAMTYPE8; where OAMTYPE1 thru OAMTYPE8 associates a PHB class to the MPLS packets with the specified OAMTYPE value 1-8.

Note:

The OAMTYPE1 parameter associates a PHB value to an FDI OAM type packet.

Result:

An Access Identifier (OAMPHB-{2-8}) is assigned for the OAMPHB profile.

Example:

ENT-PHB-PROF:::QOS001::HIGH2,EF,EF,EF,EF,EF,EF,EF;.
