How do I create an OAM test template?

CAUTION

Service Disruption

The name of an object, including subscriptions, baselines, indicators, templates, and chart profiles, cannot contain a semicolon (;) or backslash (\).

The use of these characters in an object identifier will result in corrupted data that must be deleted by Nokia support.

Note: Templates for use with IP Edge NEs, 7705 SAR and 7210 SAS, have specific requirements; see Step 4. A compliant template must be used for any test involving an IP Edge NE, including tests between an IP Edge NE and another NE type.

Steps

Open Data Collection and Analysis Management, Test Templates.

Click png3.pngTEMPLATE.

In the Create Test Template form that opens, configure the template settings in the panel on the left.

By default, the settings are not visible or editable at test creation. Enable visibility or editing for each setting as needed. When you enable editing, visibility is automatically enabled.

  • Configure the Execute type parameter to configure the template as On-demand or Proactive.

  • Select System Template to configure the template as a system template.

If the template will be used in tests involving IP Edge NEs, proceed to Step 4.

If you are configuring a template for use with tests involving 7705 SAR or 7210 SAS NEs, ensure that the requirements for IP Edge NE tests are met:

  • The Destination Type must be Destination MAC address, and the field must be editable.

  • The name of the configured MA must start with AssociationNameType-.

    where:
    • AssociationNameType- is the configured Association name type followed by a hyphen, for example, String-test15.

    • If the Association name type is VPN ID, the format is VpnID-, for example, VpnId-00AABB:EEFFCC66.

    • If the Association name type is ICC-based, the format is IccBased-, for example, IccBased-ABCD12EFGH01.

  • The name of the configured MD must start with DomainNameType-.

    where:
    • DomainNameType- is the configured Domain name type followed by a hyphen, for example, Name-test15.

    • DNS and MAC must be capitalized in MD names, for example, MAC-FA:13:3F:2F:80:AF-1234

    • If the Domain name type is Format, the MD name must include the level, for example, None-7.

View the test creation form layout in the panel on the right side of the page. Drag the fields to change the order if needed.

Click CREATE.
