Workflow for NSP cluster installation
Purpose
The following is the sequence of high-level actions that you must perform in order to deploy a new NSP cluster. Each cross-reference is a link to a section in procedure To install an NSP cluster.
Stages
Create Kubernetes environment
1 |
Create an NSP deployer host, as described in Create NSP deployer host VM. |
2 |
Configure network connectivity for the NSP deployer host, as described in Configure NSP deployer host networking. |
3 |
Install the registry, as described in Install Kubernetes registry. |
4 |
Create the VMs for the NSP cluster , as described in Create NSP cluster VMs. |
5 |
Configure networking for the NSP cluster VMs, as described in Configure NSP cluster networking. |
6 |
Deploy the cluster, as described in Deploy Kubernetes environment. |
7 |
Verify the NSP cluster operation, as described in Check NSP cluster status. |
Configure NSP cluster | |
8 |
Specify NSP installation options and configure deployment parameters, as described in Configure NSP software. |
9 |
Label the dedicated NSP cluster nodes, as described in Label Flow Collector, MDM nodes. |
10 |
Configure the label profile and other NSP cluster parameters, as described in Configure NSP cluster hosts file. |
11 |
Create and apply Kubernetes secrets to secure the deployment, as described in Install Kubernetes secrets. |
12 |
If you are installing the standby NSP cluster in a DR deployment, restore the Kubernetes secrets from the primary cluster, as described in Restore secrets on standby cluster, DR deployment. |
Deploy and monitor NSP | |
13 |
Install and start the NSP software, as described in Deploy NSP software, monitor initialization. |
Enable NFM-P XML API access
14 |
If required, set the password for NSP access to the NFM-P XML API, as described in Set password for NFM-P XML API access. |
