How do I run an OAM test on a service?
Purpose
Use this procedure to run an OAM test on an MDM-managed or classic-managed service. For information about OAM tests on services, see the NSP Data Collection and Analysis Guide.
Some tests on classic-managed services are only provided through the dashboard and are not supported through Data Collection and Analysis. These tests can only display results immediately in the NSP GUI, and the results cannot be retrieved later in NSP. These one-time validation tests are:
Note: In the case of MTU Ping tests, if you select a tunnel endpoint with a large MTU, the test may time out before it completes and display a failed result.

Open Object Troubleshooting and select a service to test, as described in How do I troubleshoot a network object?. |

The Run OAM Test form opens with the default Test Type for the service pre-selected. |

Click Select in the Entity Type list. The type of service entities listed depends on the type of service you are testing. |

In the Select [service entity] form, select the service entities you want to test and click Select. |

Click Run. The test is run and the results are displayed in NSP. End of steps |
