To perform a bulk channel creation on ports that support multiple sub-channels

Purpose

Perform this procedure to create the maximum number of channels on ports that support multiple sub-channels. The following table lists the port types that support bulk channel creation.

Note: This procedure assumes you have preconfigured an NE with an appropriate daughter card that supports multiple sub-channels.

Steps
 
1 

Choose Equipment from the view selector in the navigation tree.

Locate and expand the device on which you need to perform a bulk channel creation.

Perform one of the following:

  1. For OC3, OC12, DS3 ASAP, and E3 ASAP ports, right-click on a port icon and choose Create Maximum # of Channels. The Create Maximum # of Channels form opens.

  2. For APS common ports and APS SONET VTGs, right click on an APS Common Config SONET channel icon and choose Create Maximum # of Channels. The Create Maximum # of Channels form opens.

    Note: APS common ports and APS SONET VTGs are created when you create APS groups. See To create an SC APS group for more information.

Configure the required parameters.

Click Execute.
