How does telemetry charting work?
Telemetry charting
When you configure a telemetry chart in Data Collection and Analysis Visualizations, a new telemetry data subscription is created to request historical and/or real time telemetry, as required by the chart configuration.
If historical telemetry data is requested, the data is retrieved from the database. Historical data must already be available in the database.
Note: The telemetry data subscription requests data from the database based on the requirements configured for the chart, not on the subscription that collected the data.
If real time telemetry data is requested, a new telemetry subscription is automatically created to request the data from the NEs. The telemetry chart plots data from the subscriptions created for plotting.
If you open Data Collection and Analysis Visualizations by cross-launching from a telemetry subscription in the Data Collection and Analysis Management, Subscriptions view, the New Chart form displays the parameters configured in the telemetry subscription you cross-launched from. When you click PLOT, Data Collection and Analysis Visualizations creates telemetry subscriptions as needed to collect the data, and plots the data from the subscriptions it creates.
The subscriptions created for plotting do not save to the database or create file output.
