Redundant system installation workflow

Description

The following is the sequence of high-level actions required to install a redundant NFM-P system.

Note: The link in each stage leads to a section in To install a redundant NFM-P system.

Stages
 

Configure firewalls between components, as required; see Check and configure firewalls.


Update the NSP configuration; see Add NFM-P to NSP configuration.


Download the required NFM-P installation files; see Download installation files.


Install the primary database; see Install primary database.

  1. Run a script to prepare for the Oracle software installation.

  2. Install the database packages.

  3. Create the primary database.


Install the standby database; see Install standby database.

  1. Run a script to prepare for the Oracle software installation.

  2. Install the database packages.

  3. Create the standby database.


Install the primary main server; see Install primary main server.

  1. Install the main server packages.

  2. Create and apply the primary main server configuration.


Start the primary main server; see Start primary main server.


Install a single-user GUI client or client delegate server; see Install GUI client.


Instantiate the standby database; see Instantiate standby database.

Install one or more of the following optional components, as required; see Install optional components:

  • NFM-P auxiliary servers

  • NSP auxiliary database

Install additional single-user GUI clients and client delegate servers, as required; see Install additional GUI clients .

If any required firewalls between components are disabled, enable the firewalls, as required; see Configure and enable firewalls.
