Workflow to configure Ethernet G.8032 rings

Perform one of the following to create Ethernet ring elements:

  1. Create an Ethernet ring element for all supported devices except for OmniSwitch and Wavence devices. See To configure an Ethernet Ring Element for more information.

  2. Create an Ethernet ring element for an OmniSwitch. See To configure an OmniSwitch Ethernet Ring Element .

  3. Create an Ethernet radio ring element for a Wavence SM. See the NSP NFM-P Microwave Radio User Guide for more information.

Perform one of the following to create physical links:

  1. Configure LLDP to automatically discover and create physical links. See  To enable LLDP on an NE .

  2. Manually create a physical link. See To create a physical link .

If required, perform a global Ethernet ring audit to trigger Ethernet ring creation and mergers. See To perform an Ethernet G.8032 ring audit .
