Alarm policies

Overview

Alarm policies are used to control how the NFM-P handles incoming alarms. For example, an OSS can manipulate the global policy (fm.GlobalPolicy), which applies to all of the alarms, or specific policies that apply to each type of alarm (fm.SpecificPolicy). There is one global policy for the entire system, and one specific policy for each alarm based on the alarmClassTag. Both types of policies are configured using generic.GenericObject.configureInstanceWithResult. See   Figure 9-6, XML request example and the XML API Reference for more information about the methods. See the XML API SDK Sample Code Navigator for a sample request to configure a specific alarm policy.
