What do I need to know about extended NE software support for the NSP License?
Extended NE software support
NSP enables extended NE software support through the NSP license, beginning with N-4 NE release (relative to the NSP release). In order to manage the extended NEs, purchasing extended licenses is recommended.
CLM automatically generates an inventory report showing license points for the nodes and license points consumed. To view the inventory report, open File Server and navigate to the nokia, nsp, license folder and uncompress the extended-support-inventory.zip file.
To view entitlements for the extended NE software support in the NSP UI, select the Centralized License Manager, Network Pool Keys view, and expand NSP Routing, Network Element Licenses.
The supported nodes zip file is automatically installed with NSP. To view this file, open the Artifacts, Artifact Bundles view. When the zip is uncompressed, the supported-nodes.xml file is installed in the File Server.
To view the supported-nodes.xml file, open File Server and navigate to nokia, nsp, license, supported-nodes, supported-nodes.xml. The supported nodes xml file lists the supported nodes with their corresponding supported releases. Any node type and release combination that is not in the supported-node.xml file is considered extended NE support.
The NSP raises alarms if the supported-node file is not found or if it was tampered with. The CLM raises an alarm if consumed entitlements surpass what was licensed. See What does this alarm mean?.
