To disable SNMP polling for an NE type

Purpose

Perform this procedure to stop collection of accounting statistics by NFM-P for an NE type. This ensures that accounting files that are processed by cloud native telemetry are not duplicated in NFM-P.

To stop collection, you need to create an event notification policy to disable the tmnxLogFileRollover trap.

Steps

Choose Administration→Mediation from the NFM-P main menu. The Mediation (Edit) form opens.

Create an event notification policy:

  1. Click on the Event Notification Policies tab.

  2. Click Create or select a policy and click Properties. The Event Notification Policy (Create | Edit) form opens.

  3. Configure the parameters, including the NE Type and Version.

  4. Click OK. The policy is listed on the form.

  5. Apply the changes in the Mediation (Edit) form.

  6. Select the new policy in the list and click Properties. The Event Notification Policy (Edit) form opens.

Disable collection of traps.

  1. Click on the Notification Policies tab. A list of SNMP traps is displayed.

  2. Filter the MIB Entry Name column by tmnxLogFileRollover.

  3. Select the tmnxLogFileRollover trap entry in the list and click Properties. The MIB Entry Policy - trappolicy (Edit) form opens.

  4. Configure the Administrative State parameter to Down.

  5. Save your changes and close the forms.

Click OK to save your changes and close the Mediation (Edit) form.

Assign the event notification policy to the NE; see To assign an event notification policy to an NE.

To verify that accounting collection has stopped, check an accounting telemetry type and verify that the count has not increased.
