Migrating from Release 24.4 or earlier

Migration synopsis

Release 24.4 and earlier NSP Flow Collectors and Flow Collector Controllers are hosted on stations outside the NSP cluster. In order to retain the existing flow collection capability in an NSP deployment being upgraded from Release 24.4 or earlier, you must perform a migration of the flow collection configuration to the NSP cluster, as described in To migrate Release 24.4 or earlier NSP Flow Collectors and Flow Collector Controllers.

Note: Release 24.8 and later NSP Flow Collectors and Flow Collector Controllers are containerized, and are therefore configured, hosted, and controlled by an NSP cluster. When performing a direct upgrade from a NSP Release 24.8 or later to the current NSP release, flow data will be migrated automatically.

Users should note that:

  • Each NSP Flow Collector and Flow Collector Controller must be at the same release in order for the migration to succeed.

  • After the migration, Kafka Path Control subscriptions will replace the former NRC-P JMS event streams.
