How do I update the NSP license from Release 25.x to 26.4 or later?

Purpose

Use this procedure to update your NSP license from NSP Release 25.x to 26.4 or later.

Starting with NSP Release 26.4, you must have an NSP license that includes the NSP Developer feature package if you intend on using customer-created or modified workflows, intents, or adaptors. See NSP System Architecture Guide for more information about feature packs and what is included in the NSP Developer feature package.

Note: This procedure does not apply if you are updating your NSP license from pre-NSP 25 releases directly to NSP Release 26.

Note: This procedure applies to NSP license update only. For NFM-P licensing, see NFM-P license management.

Note: If the NSP license is not updated, using customer-created workflows, intents, or adaptors may cause them to not execute and trigger the following alarm: EntitlementResourceAlert; see What does this alarm mean?.

Prerequisites

In order to update your NSP license from NSP Release 25.x to 26 or later, you must already have NSP Release 25 installed or upgraded. This gives you access to the NSP CLM.

Note: Do not yet upgrade the NSP Release 25.x to 26 or later until prompted to do so in Step 5.

Steps

Open Centralized License Manager (CLM) from the NSP main menu.

From the view selector, select Configurations.

Download the System Certificate Signing Request (CSR), which contains the system UUID and keys specific to your deployment.

NSP uses the same UUID for both active and standby instances. The same UUID is also used after switchover.

Email the license request to your Nokia representative to request an NSP license key (also known as the NSP Routing key). The request is for one UUID and consists of the downloaded file (zip archive) and the NSP routing options for your deployment.

In response, Nokia will prepare an Installation.zip containing all applicable NSP routing licenses, which can include nfmpLicense.xml, nspRoutingLicense.xml, and vsrnrcLicense.txt, depending on the NSP routing options selected in the license request.

Upgrade NSP from Release 25 to 26.

See “To install an NSP cluster” in the NSP Installation and Upgrade Guide to install NSP.

See “NSP system upgrade” in the NSP Installation and Upgrade Guide to upgrade NSP.

Once the upgrade is complete and you have access to the NSP UI, follow the steps below.

  1. Extract the Installation.zip file received from Nokia and upload the system license to NSP:

  2. Open Centralized License Manager, Network Pool Keys and click + Pool Key.

  3. Choose the file that contains the NSP Routing key (nspRoutingLicense.xml) and click Upload.
