How do I edit an intent type?

Purpose

Use this procedure to modify an intent type.

Note: GraalJS is the preferred script mapping engine for developing intent types.

Best practice for predefined intent types

Intent types that were imported and installed from the Artifacts views, that is, intent types with the ArtifactAdmin label, should not be edited in Network Intents.

If you want to update the views of these intent types, create a new view. To update other parameters, clone the intent type and edit the clone with your changes.

Note: Cloning the intent type is preferred over creating a new version: if you install a new Nokia-created version of the intent type, the version you created may be overwritten. A clone is an independent copy of the intent type that will not be affected by changes to the original.

Open the Edit Intent Type form:

  1. From Network Intents, Intent Types, select an intent type and click png1.png (Table row actions), Edit.

  2. From the intents list for an intent type, click Edit Intent Type.

Make changes as needed.

Click Update.
