Device adaptation interface APIs

The device adapter interface is used when integrating other protocols to IMPACT IoT. IMPACT IoT includes several protocols, but often it is necessary to be able to add protocols and this can be done by customers, integrators, or other personnel. IMPACT IoT provides the ability to support new device protocols with a set of APIs that can be used to adapt IMPACT IoT to the desired protocol. The interfaces use bidirectional HTTP with REST and JSON technologies.

The software that uses this interface is called the Adapter.

To use the protocol adaption interface, the contents and format of the uplink and downlink payloads must be made available to the scripting engineer. It is also recommended for consistency that the resource names used by the adapter must use the commonly used identifiers.
