Lucent CM nodes | |||
GO |
The nodes perform different roles in the Lucent CM system.
All nodes, regardless of the node type run on the same hardware platform. The role the node performs is determined during installation when the software related to the role is installed and configured.
Lucent CM node types:
Node type |
Description |
Universal node (U-node) |
Runs both application and data related software and stores the subscriber information. |
Application node (A-node) |
Runs application related software. |
Database node (D-node) |
Runs data related software and stores the subscriber information. |
The different nodes can be used to create different Lucent CM system configurations. The configurations allows the Lucent system to be used in a wide range of deployments. From small simplex configurations to large, geographically dispersed high availability configurations.
Lucent CM configurations can easily be changed to:
Increase capacity to handle growing numbers of users
Add security
Increase reliability
Because all node types can be deployed on the same platform, nodes can be re-used in growth scenarios and nodes are easy to manage.
Important! All capacity figures are estimates based on typical usage of the Lucent CM system. The actual capacity varies depending on the real use and behavior of users.
The capacity of a full Lucent CM system depends on the node types, the number of nodes that are deployed and the configuration.
