This topic provides an overview of the tasks that must be performed to request and import SSL certificates.
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is used to:
Provide authentication information about the Lucent CM servers to the Lucent CM clients
Encrypt data that is sent between Lucent CM servers and Lucent CM clients.
For SSL to work properly, the Lucent CM system must have a SSL certificate. The SSL certificate contains information about the Lucent CM server.
SSL certificate flow:
1 |
Create a certificate. | ||||||
2 |
Send the certificate to a certification authority for signing.
3 |
| ||||||
4 |
Request the certification authority's root certificate.
5 |
Transfer the certification authority's root certificate to the server and import the root certificate.
6 |
Transfer the signed certificate to the server and import the signed certificate. |
