Power up and power down

Purpose

This topic describes the steps to power up or power down a Lucent CM server or the Lucent CM system (all servers).

Power down Lucent CM server

The procedure is valid for all types of nodes (A-node, D-node and U-node).

Task StepsPerform the following steps to power down a single Lucent CM server:

Log into the Lucent CM server as “root”.

Stop all Lucent CM processes on the server.

Enter the following commands:

  1. cd /opt/lps/current/ha

  2. ./stop_node

Power down the Lucent CM server.

Reference:  Refer to the server hardware documentation for the procedure for your server.

Power up Lucent CM server

The procedure is valid for all types of nodes (A-node, D-node and U-node).

Task StepsPerform the following steps to power up a single Lucent CM server:

Power up the Lucent CM server.

Log into the Lucent CM server as “root”.

Start all Lucent CM processes on the server.

Enter the following commands:

  1. cd /opt/lps/current/ha

  2. ./start_node

Power down Lucent CM system

Task StepsPerform the following steps to power down all servers of Lucent CM system:

Log into a Lucent CM server as “root”.

Stop all Lucent CM processes on the Lucent CM system.

Enter the following commands:

  1. cd /opt/lps/current/ha

  2. ./ha_cli to access the HA CLI

  3. <CLI login>, enter any 3 characters to login to the HA CLI

  4. stop proc all

  5. quit to exit the HA CLI.

Power down all Lucent CM servers of the Lucent CM system.

Task StepsPerform the following steps to power up all servers of Lucent CM system:
