This topic describes the Lucent CM Explorer administration client and the terminology that is related to the administration client.
The terms that are explained are used throughout this document.
An example of a Lucent CM Explorer administration client main screen. The content of the tree view depends on the systems that are provisioned and differ per deployment:

Shows folders and items. |
Tab |
Shows lists, parameters, checkmark boxes and buttons. |
Parameter and parameter value |
Parameters to view and enter information. |
Menu bar |
Provides access to options to perform configuration operations and retrieve information. |
Folder |
A folder groups items that are related. The folders are expanded and collapsed by clicking the + or - in front of the folder name. For example: Users or Servers |
Button |
To perform actions, retrieve information and configuration operations. |
Status area |
Displays the status of operations that are performed. For example, successful or failure indications are shown. |
From the Lucent CM Explorer administration client, dialog boxes can open.

Dialog boxes to enter information. For example, for an add or modify operation. |
Confirmation dialog boxes |
Dialog box to confirm an action. For example, a delete operation. |
Information dialog boxes |
Dialog box to inform the user of an error or remind the user of an action. |
When applications are not running, the folders that are related to the application are not shown in the folder pane.

The Lucent CM Explorer offers different methods of entering or selecting parameter values.
Values can be entered using one of the following methods:
Parameters boxes
Increase or decrease selector buttons
Add (>>) or remove (<<) buttons
Pull down lists
Radio buttons
