Purpose

This topic describes the steps to start and log in to the Lucent CM Explorer administration client as system administrator or Lucent CM Explorer partition administration client using the Start menu.

Disable proxy

When accessing a Lucent CM system that is located behind a firewall, disable the Java Webstart option for using proxies. The use of proxies can result in failure to connect to the Lucent CM server.

Before you begin

This procedure assumes you have already downloaded the Lucent CM Explorer administration client once.

Start and login

Perform the following steps:

1	If ...   Then ...   you login as Lucent CM Explorer administration client,   Select Start → Programs → Lucent CM Admin (<username>)   Result:  A Java Web Start window opens and performs a check if a newer client version is available.
2	If ...   Then ...   you have the latest version,   the Lucent CM Explorer Login screens opens.   a newer version is available,   Java Web Start downloads the latest client version. Click Yes to provide the Lucent CM explorer full access to your machine. The Lucent CM Explorer Login screens opens.
3	Enter your account name and password. The default account name is: sadmin The default password is: sadmin
4	Click Login. Result:  The Lucent CM Explorer administration client opens showing the initial screen: End of steps
