System configuration process overview

Purpose

This topic provides an overview of process for basic configuration of the Lucent CM system.

Before you begin

This process overview assumes the Lucent CM hardware and the first Lucent CM node has been installed.

This illustrates the flow to configure a Lucent CM system:

Basic system configuration process stages

The stages for basic system configuration are:

Add nodes.

When ...	Then ...
a new authentication service is needed for the system admin account,	Define new Lucent CM Authentication service

Add new system administration account.

Delete the default system administration account

For security, it is strongly recommended to delete the default system administration account.

Result

When the system is configured, the Lucent CM system is ready for use and service providers can start creating partitions, services, groups, and users.
