Configure support for FS 5000 call server geographical redundancy | |||
GO |
Lucent CM supports geographical redundancy for the FS 5000 call server. The FS 5000 uses protection servers that take over when the primary FS 5000 server fails.
On the Lucent CM system, the Lucent CM users are assigned a protection call server that takes over when the primary call server fails.
In case of failure of an FS 5000 call server, the administrator initiates a manual failover procedure.
Lucent CM partition administrators can only view settings related to geographical redundancy for their partition. When a call server fails, the protection server takes over without notifying the partition administrator.
Lucent CM users are not aware of geographical redundancy and protection servers. When a call server fails, the protection server takes over without notifying the user.
The Lucent CM server performs the following stages when an administrator quarantines a call server:
1 |
Unregister users with the quarantined call server. |
2 |
Close all connections between Lucent CM servers and the quarantined FS 5000. |
3 |
Establish connections between Lucent CM servers and the protection FS 5000. |
4 |
Register all users that are hosted by the quarantined FS 5000 with the protection FS 5000. |
Geographical redundancy is configured as part of the call server, group, and user configuration.
To enable geographical redundancy, provision the following parameters:
1 |
Navigate to the FS 5000 call server in the Call Server folder and provision an alternate call server in the PSI Protection Call Server ID parameter. |
2 |
Navigate to the Call Server tab for the group in the Groups folder and provision an alternate call server in the Protection Call Server parameter. |
3 |
Navigate to the Call Server tab for the user in the Users folder and provision an alternate call server in the Protection Call Server parameter. End of steps |
