Use this procedure to create/modify/delete LAG groups on the LNW70 or an unprotected LNW170.
The Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete LA Group command ( ent-lagrp/ed-lagrp/dlt-lagrp TL1 command) from the System View menu allows you to create/delete or modify a LAG on the LNW70 or an unprotected LNW170. LAN ports are managed using the Configuration → Equipment command ( ed-eport TL1 command) from the System View menu.

Important!
It is recommended that cables associated with members of a LAG not be connected until the group is defined, else a loop may be formed.

This procedure assumes that the LNW70/LNW170 circuit pack has already been installed into the shelf. See Procedure 4-13: Install Gigabit Ethernet circuit packs.
Use the following procedure to create, modify, or delete a link aggregation group (LAG).:

If the Ethernet circuit pack is already providing service, changing tagging mode will take down any existing service. The existing tagging mode cannot be changed without removing all existing cross-connections and virtual switch provisioning. Determine the existing tagging mode for the circuit pack being provisioned. Use the TL1 rtrv-eqpt command or select View → Equipment from the System View menu, select the CP, then click Select. Note the VLAN Tagging Mode and other parameter values. The VLAN Tagging Mode for the LNW70/LNW170 circuit packs must be set to SWITCHED. Changing the vlantagmd is service affecting. Changing from NOTAG mode to another mode may result in an inconsistency between the mode and cross-connects that have been set. This will cause a tag-mode and cross-connect inconsistency alarm. | ||||||||||

Select the Configuration → Equipment command from the System View menu (or use the TL1 ed-eqpt command), select the circuit pack being provisioned, then click Select. | ||||||||||

Determine the LAN ports required for the LAG group(s). LAN ports must be the same rate. | ||||||||||

Use the TL1 ed-eport command to provision the lead port (leadport) LAN port parameters, or select Configuration → Equipment from the System View menu. Expand the details for the circuit pack, highlight the LAN Port, then click Select. Provision the parameters as required. Important! The first LAN port (leadport) assigned to the LAG group being created must already be a member of a virtual switch. The second member port of the LAG must NOT be a member of a virtual switch. Use the rtrv-vrtsw TL1 command or View → Data → Virtual Switch to determine the assignment of virtual switches for the port(s) being provisioned. Creating virtual switches using the ent-vrtsw TL1 command or Configuration → Data → Create Virtual Switch command from the System View menu requires you to select the circuit pack and provision the following parameters :
Assign Virtual Switch ID.

If required, use the TL1 ed-eport command to provision the LAN port and LAG port parameters, or select Configuration → Equipment from the System View menu. Expand the details for the circuit pack, select the LAG group or expand the details for the LAG group, highlight the member LAN port, then click Select. Provision the parameters as required. Note that these parameters may have already been inherited from the leadport when the LAG was created. The lead port's membership in the VS is transferred to the LAG, as well as VLAN memberships and QoS services. Other Layer 2 provisioning (ed-eport) is also copied to the LAG. A default port tag (Virtual LAN tagging mode Transparent) or default VLAN (Virtual LAN tagging mode 802.1 Tag) must be provisioned for the LAG group in order to pass any untagged frames. Note that these parameters may have already been inherited from the leadport when the LAG was created. The lead port's membership in the VS is transferred to the LAG, as well as VLAN memberships and QoS services. Other Layer 2 provisioning (ed-eport) is also copied to the LAG. Use the View → Equipment command from the System View menu to select the port and verify provisioning. Perform one of the following as required:

If required, use the TL1 ent-erate command to provision/adjust the LAG related QoS parameters, or select Configuration → Data → Provision QoS Service from the System View menu. Expand the details for the circuit pack, highlight the LAG port, then click Select. Provision the parameters as required. The lead port's membership in the VS is transferred to the LAG, as well as VLAN memberships and QoS services. Other Layer 2 provisioning (ed-eport) is also copied to the LAG. MODIFY EXISTING LAG Use the TL1 ed-lagrp command to modify the LAG, or select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete LA Group from the System View menu. Select (highlight) the circuit pack, then click Select. Modifying a LAG consists of either adding or deleting a member port, changing the hashtype, or changing the protocol parameter. The LAG may consist of up to two LAN ports. You may delete all but one LAN port. | ||||||||||

If you are adding or deleting a member LAN port, double click in the Member Port AID(s) box. Result: The Modify Member Ports window opens. Select an available port or remove a selected port, as required. Click Apply to execute the command. | ||||||||||

DELETE EXISTING LAG Use the TL1 dlt-lagrp command to modify the LAG , or select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete LA Group from the System View menu. Select the circuit pack. Important! All but the last port must have been previously removed from the LAG before you can delete the LAG. | ||||||||||

Click in the Delete box for the LAG being deleted. Click Apply, read the warning message, then click Yes to execute the command. Click Close to exit. End of steps |
