Procedure 9-9: Establish subtending low-speed UPSR/BLSR

- Overview

Use this procedure to establish the following subtending low-speed rings:

  • OC-3/12/48 UPSR

  • OC-48 BLSR (Release 3.0 and later)

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.

  2. Refer to Laser safety and Electrostatic discharge information in Chapter 1, Safety.

  3. Verify that you have the necessary work instructions detailing the slots, circuit packs, ports, and network element parameters to be used for this procedure.

  4. Verify that the network containing the host Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX node is established and operating properly.

  5. Verify that all systems being connected to the host Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX have been equipped and operating properly.

Complete the following steps to establish a subtending low-speed UPSR/BLSR.
