inc. OCN LOF

Description

The system has detected a loss-of-frame (LOF) condition in an incoming OC-N signal. LOF is declared when an out-of-frame (OOF) condition (four consecutive errored STS-1 framing patterns) persists for a period of 3 ms.

Likely Cause

The upstream OCN terminal equipment failed or there is incorrect OCN port provisioning at either the upstream OCN terminal equipment or the local network element.

An unprotected line/port carrying service failed: SA. A protected line/port failed: NSA.

Visible Indication

Lighted CR, MJ, or MN LED on the SYSCTL faceplate (when the severity level is provisioned to Critical, Major, or Minor, respectively) and a flashing Fault LED on the alarmed circuit pack.

Action

Proceed to Procedure 5-68: Clear "inc. OCN" alarms.
