Procedure 6-5.3: Provision Line timing mode

Important!

This is not a stand-alone procedure. Perform this procedure only as directed by Procedure 6-5: Network Element synchronization provisioning.

Steps

Complete the following steps to provision the network element Timing Mode to Line.

1

Important!

If the Synchronization Autoreconfiguration parameter is to be Enabled, then Sync Messaging must be enabled on the associated OC-n port.

If required, select View → Timing/Sync from the System View menu, then select the Sync Message Status tab to determine if sync messaging is enabled or disabled. SByte in the Type column indicates that sync messaging is enabled.

If required, select Configuration → Equipment to access the required OC-n port and enable the Sync Messaging parameter.
