ED-EQPT command parameters

Table 11-3, ED-EQPT command provisionable parameters lists the provisionable parameters for the Ethernet circuit packs:

Table 11-3: ED-EQPT command provisionable parameters

Parameter

Description

type

Equipment TypeWhen addressed to a slot AID, the legal value is ETHPK (Ethernet circuit pack).

Other values are valid when the slot is not equipped with an Ethernet pack.

brst

Burst Size (1-255): Burst size determines the length or size of the burst that will be allowed by the peak information rate (PIR) policer. The valid range is 1 to 255. The default is 5.

A larger value of burst size means that larger bursts will be allowed; a smaller value of burst size means that the PIR is more strictly enforced and less burstiness is allowed. This parameter affects policing for all VLANs (in 802.1Q mode) or all port tags (in transparent mode).

This parameter applies to the LNW66, LNW67, and LNW68 Ethernet circuit packs.

cint

Credit Interval (1-4095): Credit interval for adding tokens to the token buckets used by the peak information rate (PIR) policer. The valid range is 1 to 4095. The default is 125, which corresponds to an interval of approximately 65.5 ms.

The minimum value of 1 corresponds to an interval of 524.288 us. The maximum value of 4095 corresponds to 2.15 sec. This parameter affects policing for all VLANs (in 802.1Q mode) or all port tags (in transparent mode).

This parameter applies to the LNW66, LNW67, and LNW68 Ethernet circuit packs.

eccmode

Ethernet Cross Connect Mode

  • STS1 - STS-1 Cross-Connect mode supports only STS-1 cross-connections. For the LNW71, STS1 mode supports up to two STS-1 cross-connections to each VCG (1-24). For the LNW70/LNW170, STS1 mode supports up to 48 STS-1 cross-connections to VCG 1-2, 32 STS-1 cross-connections to VCG 3-28, and 10 STS-1 cross-connections to VCG 29-32. For the LNW78, STS1 mode supports up to 24 STS-1 cross-connections to VCG 1-2.

  • STS3c - STS-3c Cross-Connect mode supports at most one STS-3c or one STS-1 cross-connection to each of the first 16 VCGs (1-16), (VCGs 17-24 are not used). Applies only to the LNW71 circuit pack.

  • STS12c - STS-12c Cross-Connect mode supports STS-3c, STS12c,or virtual concatenated STS3c cross-connections to each VCG. Applies to the LNW70/LNW170 and LNW78 circuit packs.

This parameter applies to the LNW70/LNW170, LNW71, and LNW78 circuit packs.

This parameter does not apply to the LNW87.

fefi_code

Far End Fault Indication Code is a 2 digit hexadecimal number in the range 03 to FE. The initial value is 05. (If a single digit is entered, it is padded with a zero to the left. For example, 5 is interpreted as 05). fefi_code is applicable only for LNW74, LNW70/170, and LNW87 circuit packs and is specified on a circuit pack basis.

mst

Socket Maintenance State. This parameter applies to equipped sockets only. Values are:

  • Normal - While in the normal state, any subsequent removal of the pluggable transmission module is reported with the assigned ASAP alarm severity level.

  • Maint - While in the maintenance state, any subsequent removal of the pluggable transmission module is reported with an alarm severity level of a standing condition regardless of the assigned ASAP alarm severity level.

prot_state

Slot Protection state. This parameter specifies the protection state for the companion circuit packs in a slot pair.

Values are:

  • PROT - protected.

  • UNPROT - unprotected.

This parameter applies only to LNW170 Ethernet circuit packs.

When a slot pair is equipped with LNW170 circuit packs, provisioning the slot prot_state to PROT sets the packs to be equipment protected and assigns certain corresponding ports on the companion circuit packs to the same fixed link aggregation groups: LAG1 (slot 1, port 1 and slot 2, port 1); LAG2 (slot 1, port 2 and slot 2, port 2); LAG3 (slot 1, port 5 and slot 2, port 5); LAG4 (slot 1, port 6 and slot 2, port 6). When prot_state is provisioned to UNPROT, if the NE is equipped with VLF MAINs, the LNW170 circuit packs are unprotected and the corresponding ports on the companion packs operate independently. If the NE is equipped with non-VLF MAINs, the LNW170 in the slot addressed by the ED-EQPT command is unprotected and any circuit pack in the companion slot is alarmed.

taudit

Transmission audit. Enables or disables the LNW70/LNW170 transmission audit.

The transmission audit is a consistency check between counters on various hardware devices on the LNW70/LNW170 circuit pack. A transmission audit failure will result in a LAN or VCG segment audit failed alarm or equipment NP audit failed alarm.

Values are:

  • ENABLED - Enables the transmission audit function. This is the initial value.

  • DISABLED - Disables the transmission audit function.

This parameter applies only to LNW70/LNW170 Ethernet circuit packs.

When taudit is provisioned for a protected LNW170 circuit pack, the provisioned value will apply to both circuit packs of the protected pair.

vlantagmd

Vlan Tagging Mode.

  • 802.1TAG - IEEE 802.1Q mode. Default value for FE circuit packs. Allows VLAN ID assignments to LAN and VCG ports for customer identification. Applies to the LNW66, LNW67, and LNW68 circuit packs only.

  • TRANS - Transparent mode. Allows Port Tag provisioning independent of customer VLANs. Applies to the LNW66, LNW67, and LNW68 circuit packs only.

  • NOTAG - No VLAN or port tag assignments. Accepts all customer packets. Default value for the LNW70/LNW170 and LNW78 circuit packs. Only mode of operation for the LNW63, LNW64, LNW71, LNW87 and LNW74 circuit packs.

  • SWITCHED - In this mode, switched Ethernet ports are allowed on the Ethernet circuit pack. The vlantagmd (TRANS or 802.1TAG) is selectable per virtual switch (ent-vrtsw), not on the circuit pack. Applies to the LNW70/LNW170 and LNW78 circuit packs. Only mode of operation for the LNW78 circuit pack.

vt_vcat

VT Virtual Concatenation: Determines the number of STS-1s dedicated to VT virtual concatenation.

A value of 0 indicates that VT virtual concatenation is disabled. A value of 12 indicates that 12 STS-1s (336 VT1.5s) are reserved for VT virtual concatenation. Up to 63 VT1.5s may be assigned to any VCG.

Applies to the LNW74 circuit pack only.
