Procedure 7-20: Enable/disable user ID(s)

- Overview

Use this procedure to:

  • Disable a non-default user's ID

  • Disable all non-default user IDs

  • Enable a user's ID that was previously disabled

  • Enable all user IDs.

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged or Administration user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.

  2. Obtain the User ID(s) to be enabled or disabled.

Steps

Complete the following steps to enable/disable a non-default user ID(s).

If the non-default user ID(s) is to be...

Then...

enabled,

Continue with Step 2.

disabled,

Proceed to Step 4.

From the System View menu, select Administration → Security → Enable User Login.

Result:

The Enable User Login window opens.

If enabling...

Then...

one non-default user ID,

Select the user ID and click This Login. Then click OK.

STOP! End of Procedure.

all user IDs,

Click All Logins. Then click OK.

STOP! End of Procedure.

From the System View menu, select Administration → Security → Disable User Login.

Result:

The Disable User Login window opens.

If disabling...

Then...

one non-default user ID,

Select the user ID and click This Login. Then click OK.

STOP! End of Procedure.

all non-default user IDs,

Click All Logins. Then click OK.

STOP! End of Procedure.
