Service Disruption
This procedure causes service disruption until all the rearrangements are completed.
Use this procedure to transition an LNW170 in protected mode to unprotected mode for ERP.
This procedure will cause service disruption.
1 |
Login to the node being transitioned.
2 |
Make sure that the ring is in the idle state. From the Navigation menu, select View → Data → ERP. Select the circuit pack associated with the ERP. TL1 command: rtrv-erp. In the ERP display, verify that the ERP Instance State is ENRB (No Request (RPL blocked). Note the VLAN ID and Maintenance Level.
3 |
Login to one of the two nodes adjacent to the node with the LNW170s. Shut down the link connected to the LNW170s. From the System View, select Configuration → Equipment. Expand the circuit pack details. For a VCG port, expand the VCG details. Set VCG Membership to Disabled for both Input and Output Direction. In the Apply To: drop-down box, select All Tributaries, This VCG. Click Apply, then click Close. Result: This node signals SF.
4 |
Login to the node with the protected LNW170s being transitioned. Disable the ERP on the protected LNW170s.
| ||
5 |
From the System View, select View → Equipment. For each of the LNW170 circuit packs, determine which circuit pack has a Switch State of Active WAN.
6 |
From the System View, select Configuration → Equipment. Select the Active WAN LNW170 circuit pack.
7 |
Service Disruption Transmission is lost at this point in the procedure. Set the Slot Protection State to UNPROT. Click Apply, then click Close.
8 |
Create the link between the two unprotected LNW170s that is needed for connectivity. The links may be a hairpin VCG cross-connection or external LAN port cables.
9 |
Move the SFPs and cables to the desired circuit pack to support the required LAG on one of the unprotected LNW170s.
10 |
Create LAG on the desired circuit pack and change the Active/Standby Mode (asmode) to match the other end if necessary. Transmission can be supported at this point. Reference: From the System View menu, select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete LA Group.
11 |
Reconfigure ERP on both the LNW170s to include the newly created link between the two circuit packs. Set ERP State to ENABLE. Reference: From the System View menu, select Configuration → Data → Create/Modify/Delete ERP.
12 |
Enable the link that was shutdown in Step 3. From the System View, select Configuration → Equipment. Expand the circuit pack details.
| ||
