Complete the following steps to change the Slot Protection State from Protected to Unprotected for the Main slots equipped with VLNC50/52/55 circuit packs:
1 |
Important! The Slot Protection State cannot be changed from Protected to Unprotected if the Main 2 slot is equipped with a VLNC50/52/55 circuit pack. Verify that Main 2 slot is not equipped with an VLNC50/52/55. If required, perform the following to remove the VLNC50/52/55 circuit pack from the Main 2 slot.
|
2 |
From the System View window, select Configuration → Equipment. Result: The Configure Equipment window opens. |
3 |
Click (highlight) the required CP Main-1 circuit pack being provisioned, then click Select at the bottom of the window. Result: The circuit pack parameters appear. |
4 |
Provision the Slot Protection State parameter as Unprotected and click Apply. Result: A dialog box appears stating that executing this command resets the network element. Click Yes and the WaveStar® CIT disconnects from the network element. |
5 |
Re-establish the log in session to the network element. Reference: Procedure 14-2: Connect personal computer (PC) and establish WaveStar® CIT session |
6 |
Select View → Equipment to access the affected VLNC50/52/55 circuit pack and verify that the Slot Protection State is Unprotected. The line-related parameters for Main-1-1 and Main-1-2 are set to the default values in an equipment unprotected shelf which may cause pluggable transmission module and DCC-related alarms. If required, refer to the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) Maintenance and Trouble-Clearing Guide. End of steps |
