Use this procedure to test VLNC2 SYSCTL, VLNC35, and VLNC5x SONET/SDH Transport circuit pack LEDs.
Important!
The LED test does not affect the LEDs on the fan unit, or VLNC40/42/60/61/64 circuit packs.
You must log in as either a Privileged, General, or Maintenance user to complete this procedure.
Prior to performing this procedure:
Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.
Refer to Electrostatic discharge in Chapter 1, Safety.
Ensure that Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-5 is equipped with required circuit packs at the node being tested.
Complete the following steps to perform the LED test.
1 |
Important! All LEDs on the shelf may be tested by using Fault → Test → LED or the ACO/TST push-button on the SYSCTL circuit pack. Select Fault → Test → LED to test LEDs on an individual circuit pack. The LED test does not affect the LEDs on the fan unit.

Press and hold the ACO/TST push-button momentarily on the SYSCTL circuit pack. Verify that all circuit pack LEDs light, and release the ACO/TST push-button. The LEDs revert to their previous state. If the ACO/TST push-button is pressed for five or more seconds and released, the LEDs light for approximately eight seconds and revert to their previous state.

From the System View menu, select Fault → Test → LED.
5 |
Highlight either Shelf (tests all shelf LEDs) or CP xxx (tests individual circuit pack LEDs) and click Select. Result: The Test LED window opens.
6 |
In the Number of Iterations field, enter a number from 1 to 10 from the pull-down menu to indicate the number of cycles during which the LED test should be repeated and click OK. Important! On-site personnel must be physically in front of NE to witness the LED test cycles. Result: For each iteration:
