Procedure 4-13: Provision VLNC35 circuit pack LAN port/VCG for service

- Overview

Use this procedure to provision the VLNC35 Fast Ethernet circuit pack LAN ports/VCGs for service.

Important!

VLNC35 circuit pack LAN ports/VCGs are provisioned for the type of service being provided. This procedure shows how to access the parameters being provisioned, not how the parameters should be provisioned. Refer to your work instructions for parameter values or refer to Chapter 11, Ethernet network provisioning procedures for examples of Ethernet service provisioning.

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged or General user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Before you begin and Required equipment in this chapter.

  2. Obtain work instructions for this procedure.

  3. Ensure the circuit pack is installed. If the circuit pack is not installed, refer to Procedure 4-12: Install VLNC35 Fast Ethernet circuit pack.

  4. If required, ensure appropriate pluggable transmission modules are installed. Procedure 4-3: Install pluggable transmission modules.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to provision the VLNC35 circuit pack LAN ports/VCGs.

From the System View window, click the Alarm List button to obtain an NE Alarm List. Verify that no alarms are present for the ports on the circuit packs to be provisioned.

From the System View menu, select Configuration → Equipment.

Result:

The Configure Equipment window opens.

Find the VLNC35 circuit pack with the LAN ports/VCGs being provisioned, then expand the equipment list by clicking on the plus (+) sign next to the circuit pack.

Click (highlight) the LAN port/VCG being provisioned, then click Select at the bottom of the window.

Result:

The LAN port/VCG parameters appear.

Select and provision the parameters, according to your work instructions.

Click Apply to make provisioning changes.

Result:

A dialog box may appear asking you to confirm executing this command. Click Yes to apply changes.
